With all sorts of Colors and Sizes, Dauna has broken the boundaries of Basket weaving. Throughout the years, the art form of basket weaving has been slowly expanding, and now is starting to become more known. The process of basket weaving is difficult to understand because you first have to find the right size of the pine needles that you are working with, and after a long period of time, you start to think of the design you want for your basket. Dauna has done many designs ranging from mountain ranges, cayons or abstact and with each basket that is completed, she takes basket making to a whole new level.
This unique artform is created from sheet metal pounded and pressed into ball shapes with added details to show the characteristics of the person or animal. Each piece is hollow making the weight moderate. They are not painted but are covered with a protective varnish . There is a natural blue hue that is created during the torching process. Each piece is one of a kind and uniquely inspired by the artist, Zack Dean.
